The most popular U-BOAT series - the Chimera - confidently refers to a topos from Greek mythology. In addition to its meaning as a hybrid, we also refer to a chimera as an apparition that cannot be grasped rationally, an illusion. Its creator, Italo Fontana, can rightly be described as an extraordinary man with an equally extraordinary grandfather. The plans for a timepiece of extreme robustness and reliability that the grandson found in his grandfather's estate refer to him. With the passion of a polar explorer and a great deal of dedication to design and creation, Italo Fontana set about giving shape to the plans from 1942 that were initiated for the Italian War Ministry for the armed forces under water and in the air but were never realized. In 7 years of joint development with the fashion designer Mounir Moufarrige, a masterpiece was created that astonished the industry and customers alike.
