In order not to take any risks and disappoint loyal fans with the new edition, the company even launched a social media survey in 2016 to find out which of the 16 vintage models from the first generation was the most popular with the public. The winner in this "The Autavia Cup" campaign was the 2446 Mark 3 from 1966, always worn by Formula 1 racing driver and world champion Jochen Rindt, which is why it was nicknamed "Rindt". This version of the Autavia is best known for its black dial with three white counters, straight hands and the line indexes made of polished steel with luminous inserts, as well as the refined bezel. The fact that TAG Heuer has given passionate watch lovers the opportunity to actively participate in this innovative project close to their hearts shows that the company values its customers and their opinions to the highest degree. This was also strategically clever: Through such a collaboration, both sides ultimately benefit, because the brand gets to know the needs of its target group, while the customers get the product they actually want. This meant that the new Autavia generation could be designed exactly as the fans wanted. But the new Autavia series is not just the revival of the original legend:

The focus on racing has been retained, but expanded with contemporary, fine mechanical art and completed by the revised, characteristic vintage design, which continues to be reminiscent of the exciting and dangerous world of Formula 1 drivers. With the long-lasting automatic winding of 80 hours, water resistance of up to 100 meters and the bidirectional rotating, grooved bezel made of black aluminum, the watch meets all of today's modern requirements. As with the "Rindt", the black dial has fluorescent hands and indexes made of steel for guaranteed perfect readability.
