Cubitus – Fresh creations from Patek Philippe
The trademark of the Cubitus watch by Patek Philippe can be clearly found in the octagonal shape of the case. The case has both satin and polished finishes, which creates a wonderful play of elegant contrasts, especially when the light hits it. Another eye-catcher is the dial, whose horizontal embossing creates optical fullness and a striking structure. The decorative embossing is repeated on the rotors and mini-rotors of the high-quality manufacture calibers, which means that a Cubitus can be recognized without a doubt as such.
Facts and figures about the Patek Philippe Cubitus
The Cubitus from Patek Philippe measures 45 millimeters in diameter and could therefore appear quite massive. However, thanks to the elegant design and the low case height of 8.3 millimeters, it retains a slim, almost delicate appearance and offers a wonderfully light, comfortable feel when worn.
In terms of functions, there are two types of Cubitus: the watches with a date display and the model with a weekday and moon phase display. While the date is discreetly placed at the 3 o'clock point on the two functionally simpler versions, Patek Philippe uses a striking large date on the reference with many complications, which is enthroned at the 12 o'clock point.
Patek Philippe Cubitus: “Casual Chic” in three versions
Patek Philippe describes the style of the Cubitus timepieces as “casual chic”, which hits the nail on the head. The collection, which currently includes three models, manages to perfectly balance pure, glamorous elegance with everyday discretion.
The version with just a date is available in two different designs, which are very different from each other at first glance. The most visually simple version is made of stainless steel and has an olive green dial with relief embossing, on which indices made of the finest white gold are placed. The bicolor version made of stainless steel and rose gold is a little more extroverted, with its deep blue dial fitting in very skilfully with the overall picture. And then of course there is the technical masterpiece of the collection, the reference 5822P, which displays the date, day of the week and moon phase. For this model, Patek Philippe opted for a stainless steel case with a blue dial and a composite material strap in the same color with a textile look.
The three fresh creations from the Cubitus collection are united by their unmistakably elegant touch, which, however, does not culminate in pomp and ostentation, but rather is pleasantly understated, making the timepieces stylishly wearable not only on special occasions, but also in everyday life.
