The Patek Philippe Nautilus watch model
When customers look for a Nautilus, they consider models from the 2000s or the 70s. Although there are 30 years between the Nautilus 3700/1A and Nautilus 5711/1A models, at first glance not much seems to have changed. But the Nautilus models from Patek Philippe still have differences. The porthole case of the 3700/1A model consists of two parts, the bezel and the case. The bezel and case are screwed together like a porthole. The case of the 3700/1A measures 42 millimeters in diameter and is considered to be larger than average. The Nautilus 5711/1A had increased in size again. The case was now one millimeter larger and also slightly higher. In addition, the case now consisted of three parts. In addition to the bezel and the body, the base is now a separate component.
The new movement of the Patek Philippe Nautilus
The appearance of the case was influenced by the use of a new movement in the Patek Philippe Nautilus model. The new model was equipped with a second hand, changing the appearance of the luxury watch by making the bezel slightly higher. The Nautilus dial retained the pattern but changed the color. The green-blue coloring changes depending on the light. If you look at the hands, the difference between the 5711/1A model with second hand and the 3700/1A model is immediately apparent. You can now choose according to your taste and preference. The automatic caliber 28-255C drives the Nautilus. The differences in the case of the Nautilus references 3700/1A and 5711/1A are clearly visible in the height; despite the different models, Patek Philippe was able to preserve the elegant design of the Nautilus model.
The bracelet of the luxury watch Nautilus
In contrast to many sports watches, which usually have a solid bracelet, the Nautilus by Patek Philippe has a thin and supple bracelet. There are hardly any differences compared to the older model. However, the folding clasp has been redesigned. The folding clasp ensures that the clasp cannot open accidentally. This ensures greater safety when wearing the Nautilus.
The watch brand Patek Philippe
Patek Philippe is one of the most famous watch manufacturers in Switzerland. The watch brand has now established itself on the global market, and even members of royal families and captains of industry are enthusiastic about this brand. Luxury watches from Patek Philippe are also collector's watches that are often passed down to the next generation. In the mid-1970s, Patek Philippe was known for models with complications and elegant, flat gold watches. The company decided to produce a luxury sports watch. In order to create a special watch, the designer Gérald Genta was commissioned to design this watch model. The special features, such as the porthole design, the combination of satin-finished and polished components and the stainless steel bracelet, were presented to the public in 1976 as the Patek Philippe Nautilus.
