The works
As with many watches, the first choice for Frederique Constant is the movement and thus the heart of the watch. Both quartz and automatic movements are available, each offering different advantages. While the quartz movement is equipped with an extremely long-lasting battery, it combines accuracy and price awareness. Without being moved regularly, it can be used for a long time and only needs a new battery at most. The automatic movement, on the other hand, should be moved regularly, be it in a watch winder or on the wrist, and must be adjusted if necessary. With over 40 hours of power reserve, however, the watch offers enough memory. Without a battery, it can be used for decades without any problems.
The housing
Made from stainless steel to meet the highest standards, the collections come in a range of different versions. Different sizes are available between 28mm and 40mm and represent the versions for women and men respectively. In addition to silver-colored cases, the Classics collection also produces rose and yellow gold-plated models, some of which are even set with diamonds. Special shapes such as the Art Deco in oval or the Carree in rectangular are also available.
The tapes
The straps of the watches match their design and round it off. While leather straps convey an elegant look, the metal straps have a more sporty appearance. The color contrast of the rose gold plating is also reflected in the straps. The main thing here is to find your own taste and thus get the right combination. A silver case with a black calf leather strap stands for elegance and can be worn every day, the combination with a gold-plated case and a black strap is more suitable for special occasions.
The dials
The dial is the face of the watch. There are models with a high-quality porcelain dial, but classic materials are also used. Guilloche, moon phase and chronograph functions are elements that vary depending on the model. While the guilloche and the associated openwork hands exude elegance, the open balance wheel allows a glimpse of the heart of the watch and appears rather extravagant. This is the case with the Heart Beat, for example. Depending on the model, a date display is also included and complements the overall picture. The simple choice between a black and white dial almost fades into the background with this complex and large selection, but is also possible.
