What your Rolex reveals about you

For many people, watches are much more than just timepieces. They embody elegance and luxury, represent the highest level of watchmaking art and are seen as status symbols or as a manifestation of personal passions. This is especially true when the watch on your wrist is as exquisite as a Rolex . But to what extent can watches reveal something about the wearer? Or to put it another way: What does your Rolex say about you? We will get to the bottom of this question in this article - which is expressly intended to be read with a wink and which has a certain irony inherent to it.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona – racing driver at heart

Are you constantly mistaken for Paul Newman? No wonder, with a smart Rolex Daytona on your arm. You have petrol in your veins and only know one gas: full throttle. Not only on the streets, but also at work, you like to reach top speeds and let nothing and no one slow you down. Your first-class functional watch accompanies you reliably and with the chronograph and tachymeter in view, you not only feel invincible - you are. A quick glance at the meteorite dial of the Rolex Daytona is enough to reassure you again and again that you can dare to reach for the highest stars and bravely venture into unexplored spheres. Even if you probably have another job in your everyday life, you are a racing driver at heart and love the thrill of an almost unbelievably powerful acceleration. Admittedly, not many people manage to keep up with you. But your Rolex Daytona made of gold or platinum is in no way inferior to you and ensures that you always keep an overview despite soaring highs. So you are well prepared for the fast-paced rollercoaster ride called life.

Rolex Submariner – Head Under Water

As the proud owner of a Rolex Submariner, your head is not in the clouds, but under water - only in a figurative sense, of course. If your life had turned out a little differently, you would probably be working as a marine biologist or diving instructor in the depths of the underwater world. Instead, you spend most of your time on land, but your Rolex Submariner is a constant reminder of your love of the wet element and everything it hides. Perhaps you have an aquarium in which you sometimes test-dip the watch underwater while you watch the fish, who are quite disturbed by the situation, and slowly shrivel up your fingers. And you keep realizing: the Rolex Sub is simply an incredibly robust, resilient piece of equipment! Much like you, because you too can, if necessary, defy extremely adverse conditions with almost stoic determination. Even when the water is already up to your neck, you don't lose your nerve, but take a deep breath and prepare for the dive of your life. And when you resurface and look at the sparkling water droplets on your Rolex Submariner, you know one thing for sure: whether on land or under water, you won't be defeated.

Rolex Datejust – Joie de vivre

Your life is a party where you are both the host and the guest of honor. Since a Rolex Datejust adorns your arm, it is most likely not a filthy student party, but rather a stylish, carefully planned celebration with appetizing snacks, champagne and live music. Aesthetics, a sense of style and public image play a big role for you, and you meet your demands in this regard with astonishing ease. In favor of classic elegance, you willingly forego anything that dazzles and pops, because you know that you really make an impression with quality that speaks for itself. You can handle the odd envious look just as well and calmly as you can handle tight daily schedules and big challenges. You have both feet firmly on the ground, know what you have to offer and are not afraid to pursue your goals unswervingly and doggedly. Just like the Rolex Datejust you wear, you radiate confidence, authenticity and “joie de vivre” – no wonder the world is at your feet.

Rolex Explorer – pure adventure

Whether you're on an expedition to the summit of Mount Everest, on a safari through scorching desert expanses or on a research trip in damp, dark cave systems deep underground: your Rolex Explorer is enough life insurance for you. You're the kind of person who only feels truly alive when others would have fainted from fear long ago. You courageously throw yourself into new adventures every day, pushing the boundaries of what's possible little by little. Your motto could be "no risk, no fun", but of course that's far too ordinary for you. You have no problem risking everything as long as your Rolex Explorer stays intact, and you've only heard of feelings of insecurity or nervousness. Your days are packed from morning to night with at least extraordinary, sometimes even completely unthinkable activities, into which you throw yourself headlong and wholeheartedly. And when you are then woken up by your vibrating smartphone and, blinking wearily, realize that you have once again fallen asleep at your desk, you are satisfied to realize that at least the Rolex Explorer on your wrist does not only exist in your dreams.

Rolex Milgauss – Divine Omniscience

Anyone who listens to your words will be sure, at the very latest when they can't understand a word: you were already wearing the Rolex Milgauss when you were born. The watch model of thinkers, scientists and intellectuals seems to be as much a part of you as your dexterous fingers or your brow furrowed by the formation of clever thoughts. As a diplomatic person with a pragmatic attitude, you do not boast about your financial or intellectual achievements - and you don't need to. Your Rolex and your careful choice of words speak for themselves and leave no doubt that you come as close to omniscience as only God has ever managed before you.

Conclusion: Diverse watches, diverse wearers

Did you recognize yourself in the description of your Rolex watch? Or does what was described not really suit you and your life? Ultimately, it doesn't matter, because this article has served its purpose if it has made you smile a few times. And one thing is undoubtedly clear: Rolex wearers are as diverse as the watches themselves - and that's just right.

During my school days, I worked in the warehouse of an auction house and that was when I first came into contact with exclusive, mechanical watches. The fascination was born from that moment on and has not left me to this day.
