NOMOS Glashütte
Roland Schwertner, an IT expert from Düsseldorf, founded NOMOS Glashütte in 1990, after the Berlin Wall had fallen. Schwertner used the existing company name Nomos-Uhr-Gesellschaft as the basis for the watch manufactory. Between 1906 and 1910, this company distributed pocket watches from the Schweitzer watch manufactory in Glashütte. Roland Schwertner set out to restore the NOMOS Glashütte brand to its former glory and succeeded in doing so. Over the course of time, NOMOS Glashütte steadily developed more and more watch calibers on its own. The luxury watch manufacturer uses traditional watchmaking craftsmanship as well as computer-aided tools and innovative laser technology. A special feature of NOMOS Glashütte since 2014 is the Swing system. In this process, the assortment (unit consisting of balance wheel, escape wheel and anchor) is manufactured directly in the company.
